Every origin story starts somewhere.
Mine begins with a name tag.
I was twenty-six when a “breakthrough transformative weekend” handed me a name tag with one word on it, and it wasn't Rachel. I wore it on my chest for a day and a half...
Then one day, almost to the day twenty years later, I picked up the pen. I crossed out the last line of that poem, “this is me, the fake;” and under it I wrote the words I actually believe:
They handed me an ending. I get to write the rest of the story. And so do you.
You can't be shamed back to life.
You come back when you're invited. Wooed. Made to feel safe and seen enough to try.
You play your way there.
